Adjacent to the Charlotte, North Carolina headquarters of Bank of America, Behringer Harvard (a commercial real-estate firm) owns and manages the Bank of America Plaza - which contains more than 75,000 square feet of retail space and more than 800,000 square feet of office space, as well as below grade parking.  Containing multiple pedestrian and vehicular entrances (including street level and garage entrances), three over-street walkways also connect Bank of America Plaza to other major points in the downtown area (BB&T Center, Founders Hall, and the newly completed EpiCentre.)  Because there was minimal previous signage for the plaza, the owners had significant problems over the years with people not only confused as to where to go, but also as to where they were.  Nothing navigated pedestrians to the retail areas of the plaza, nor was it ever established when one had entered (or departed) the Bank of America Plaza.  To correct this problem, Behringer Harvard turned to SouthWood to provide solutions.  SouthWood was hired for the turn-key role of planning, wayfinding, designing, manufacturing and installing a new sign program for the plaza.  Newly created exterior and interior identification signs let people know when they have entered the plaza area.  Directional signage ensures that once in the plaza, people can find their way to the retail tenants and services they are needing.  New signage at the parking decks also clarifies and identifies for visitors where they are and how to get to where they want to go.  To learn more about how SouthWood can help ease access and movement for visitors to your facility, check out our Commercial and Corporate Signage page, or send us an email to set up a consultation.
