Located in the heart of Charlotte’s Midtown, The Pearl Innovation District is a transformative hub for healthcare, education, and research—anchored by the new Wake Forest University School of Medicine campus.

SouthWood was honored to play a part in this groundbreaking project, partnering with Atrium Health and key design stakeholders to deliver a comprehensive signage and wayfinding package. Our team fabricated and installed top-of-tower illuminated signage for the new medical school, along with a wide range of interior and exterior branded elements throughout the multi-acre district. From landmark identity signage to pedestrian guidance and environmental graphics, each piece was designed to reflect the innovation, collaboration, and impact that define The Pearl.

As the district continues to grow into a world-class destination for academic medicine and life sciences, SouthWood’s signage helps ensure visitors, patients, students, and staff feel welcomed and connected from the moment they arrive.
